Niall,
a full-time wheelchair user since 1976. had personal and advanced
knowledge of the access needs of a wide range of disabled
people. This has been achieved through considerable experience
with organisations that are involved in the activities of
disabled people, both in this country and abroad.
He
is a trustee of the Jubilee Sailing Trust, which owns and
operates the S.T.S. Lord Nelson and was actively involved
in the design of the new sister ship, Tenacious, both of which
provide an accessible environment for disabled people to go
Tall Ship sailing.
All
of this has given him a powerful understanding of the best
ways to achieve meaningful access in a wide variety of situations.
Niall
is also a member of the advisory board of the Facilities Management
Association, is a Fellow of the RSA and advised design students
at the Royal College of Art on inclusive design.
Some
previous clients that have used the services of Niall's consultancy
include, The Post Office, The Department of Health, The European
Commission, Knight Frank, East Gloucestershire NHS Trust and
the Ministry of Defence. In addition, providing services to
other access consultants, such as Access Matters Limited,
Niall has advised, among others, Six Continents, Orange, The
