Conference and corporate event organising

Margaret is the founder of an established provider of cutting-edge corporate seminars and conferences. The business has gained an enviable reputation for delivering impeccably organised functions that inform and educate, whilst providing entertainment and enjoyment The successful delivery of such a service is dependent on being constantly aware of changes taking place in the world of work.

Since the first event in 1994, sponsored by Desking Systems, more than seventy others – both large and small - have followed, giving a wealth of experience in successfully delivering what the customer wants. A considerable number of companies throughout the United Kingdom, both within and outside of the furniture industry, have used the conference and corporate event service for this purpose - most notably Haworth UK, who has sponsored more than 20 seminars to date. Most recently Margaret co-ordinated The Changing Workplace Seminar, sponsored by Task Systems, where Jack Pringle, President of RIBA delivered a keynote speech and was supported on the speaker panel by other Knowledge-Counsel members and eminent speakers, Prof. Adrian Furnham and David Firth.

The organisation has built up a database in excess of 120 tried-and-tested presenters who can speak on a wide variety of salient topics including:

Creating the productive workplace
New technologies and workplace innovation
The changing workplace
The psychology of managerial incompetence
How to reduce stress in the workplace
Business continuity strategy

It has organised short lunchtime talks for as few as 10 people at a client's own premises, through to major, whole-day events at such prestigious venues as The British Library, The American Embassy, The Royal Institution of Great Britain and Manchester United Football Club.

Also undertaken is the organisation of product launches and in-house staff training sessions. Events can be complemented with other resources including musicians, magicians and other entertainers to add a light-hearted touch if required.

A typical event might include some or all of the following services:

Contracting presenters
Invitation design and layout
Distribution of personalised invitations to client's selected database
Necessary follow-up to achieve target audience
Invoicing and collection of delegate fees, if appropriate
Obtaining and collating notes from presenters for delegate packs
Production of name badges, if required
